Here is a not so good pic of my other 2 tone purple Zoantheds. These are the same age as the others ones but they just have not grown as fast as the others.

Are they new to your tank? Do you have a power head right on them? Let us know a little history about them maybe that will help us understand what is going on.

See that's the funnyest thing ! They have been in the tank for 4-5 months and just dont seem to want to open !! I have several colonies of Zoos all over the place in my tank that have no problem opening ! Its not like there is a power head directly on it and my tank usually tests really well except for my nitrates that seem to climb (Hence weekly water changes) Thats I guess part of the problem with having to many fish in my tank !

Sometimes I hate zoas hahaha I've got a few colonies/frags in my tank too that have been closed up for weeks... I should probably move them to the frag tank, something is bothering them in the main cuz they were open in QT.... stupid frags

One other thing.... If you have some coral revive or coral RX around I'd dip them - see if anything falls off. They could have zoa eating nudis in them, and hopefully you'd see eggs fall off at least..

The zoa eating nudis are hard to get outta the colonies cuz as they eat the zoa, they get right into the mouth so the zoa closes up around them - making them impossible to dip!! And the nudis are nice and colorful, almost look just like a zoa!

We had a local reefer here in Spokane who fought his zoas closing up for months only to FINALLY find the nudis inside the zoas.........

.........GREAT reminder though joanne! ....it's easy to forget about possible predators vs tank issues
