I hear captken coming with potassium
![]() Have you tried fraging a piece off and moving it to different levels to see if that helps with color? |

you also have to consider how much variation you're going to get depending on what the mother colony looked like. it could just be a genetic thing.

i vote move it to less light - it could be bleached a bit
![]() Also, whats your temp?? When my temps spike high everything bleaches, especially the montis ...

I'm with estanoche...well, not really, but I do agree with her. Mine seems to bleach out, in too much light, losing the vibrant blue. Moving it lower in the tank, regains the beautiful blue coloration.

well I'd go with joanne and mike's idea of perhaps it getting too much light......they both have beautiful colors in their monti's..................are you gonna try this john? what's the coloring of it like lately?

Sorry i didn't update this sooner, but we finally just moved it down to the bottom of the tank. Its been looking pretty bad the past week, bleaching white in a couple spots. The frag i have from a diff person is up higher, but on the back glass and is in low flow. It looks pretty blue now. When i get the clubs par meter back i'll check the one thats doing good as opposed to the one is thats doing bad (which is around 275 par maybe if i remember correct?)
anybody ever check the par over their healthy blue superman? oh.. temp is usually around 79, but will swing 78 - 82 this time of year. And i haven't done any carbon dosing/ low nutrient stuff, and i haven't run carbon in the reactor in months, just gfo. Everything is doing great, my year long diatom bloom finally ended 2 weeks ago, and another frag of super looks great, and all other montis in the tank look awesome (3 diff caps, 2 diff digi's, 4 diff encrusting).....and no pests...... so wtf? flow and or lighting can be the only culprit right? |
