Mystery coral - Reef-Geeks

Hey peeps

Was messin with the wifes tank tonight and spotted something on the rock. Not sure what this
is, it's a hard coral I think but not 100 % sure, did not see any polyps but may be out at night. It looks just like a purple maxi mini with a green rim. I have not added anything like it to the tank so it really is a mystery. Sorry best pic I could get, tilted the rock up so I could get a pic.

Sure its not odd looking coralline algae? Does it have flesh on it?

I'd squirt some food at it and see if any polyps come out.

Not sure ill need move it around and squirt some food on it. I dont think its coralline there's nothing else in the tank like it and its growing over coraline. Looks just like some of the maxi minis I've saw. I thought I saw polyps come out after the lights went out. Don't know what it is but it is very coop looking in person. What ever it is , will be a bonus .

Looks almost like polyps on it, very cool looking either way!

Hard to tell completely by the pic it looks like it might a montipora undata.

Looking tonight it does have polyps and also looks like it has several eyes forming but hard to tell. It is growing though

I would venture a guess and say it's probably some type of Echinophylia coral.

If I could get a frag plug next to it and get it to stay on there might work.

I need to remove some of the Kenyon coral but it doesnt seem to mind being shaded.
