WOW bill! you've got quite an impressive collection of sps there!
I can't even choose which one I like best because they're all fabulous! these pics were certainly worth waiting for...so you also like to start yours from frags eh? are all or most of your collections from frags too?

Any chance we could get a full tank shot? They're looking great. The growth on Ellen's frag is very nice.
I'd like to see the garf's purple bonsai too! |

what are you dipping them in that is almost killing them? I'd cut that out if I were you. I see you are also plagued with red sea xenia. I love the way it looks, but it's so invasive. nice looking pieces. add me to the "wanna see the bonzai" list. I have a small frag of it that is starting to color up from the dull brown it was when it was given to me.

Bill I only dipped the green slimmer and the blue milli and was a iodine dip and I under cut it and did not have them in it very long, and after I did it I was kicking myself cause the problem was not really a issue that could be resolved with a dip. (IS NOW CORRECTED)!!!!! I have since got a bottle of revive but have not used it yet. I have 2 bonsai the purple garfs and a alien bonsai, neither one is very impressive right now but at they are starting to grow the purple one is really growing. It is very light purple right now but is encrusting very nice. The xenia is a spreading weed that I need to thin out but not as bad as the colt in the center of the tank. I'll get pics of the bonsais tonight and post them.

so would you say an iodine dip is a no go? I've never dipped anything, but I've contemplated starting a a sort of preemptive measure? any problems I've had have resulted in the removal of way more than the effected area and immediate disposal. it's really effective, but has obvious draw backs. My bonsai looks a lot like yours, with slightly deeper purple tips, but I've seen a few fully colored and they are amazin.

not sure on the dip, i have not suspected any yet that I've gotten so they just went into quarentine. We have a pic of a large colony and it is awesome. Can't wait till mine purples up.

I've dipped all my corals in iodine on introduction, and if I thought there was a problem. I don't use a strong solution, but it will stress the corals abit. They do recover though. Melafix marine is a good dip for SPS, it knocks most pests out (not eggs though), and doesn't seem to stress them at all.
