Finger Leather

Default Finger Leather

I have had this particular coral for over ten years. It has grown quite large. Recently, about a year ago, I needed to move it and because of its size it went into a corner. To tell you the truth it looks today like its being nipped at, but I haven't seen this. As time has gone by I would say it doesn't get as big as before. Another coral that has been in the tank as long, a toadstool, is doing just fine. Any thoughts out there?

How much did the move change the lighting and water flow?

I would say it was a reduction in both. Mostly light.

Is there a way you can get more light to it? It will probable live and grow just fine the way it is but if you want it to be as full as it was before then my guess is that the reduced light is the cause.

Thanks. It does appear to being getting smaller. Its on this big rock and difficult to place. I do need to change its placement. Funny its only slightly back from a Clam, but a little off center from the lighting.

If you want to frag it I'm just a few miles away

I've always wanted a leather or two.

I agree with Chris. It's got to be flow and lighting that's causing it.

Personally I never found that they were that sensitive. I do agree that those are the areas of change and the most likely problems. Thanks.
