Default Umbrella w/ NOT poyloping anymore?

2 days ago my umbrella leather never got his normal or any for that mater extension.I went out of town and just got back he still has no sign of poyloping. Could there be anything wrong or is this normal? I have have had it since Jan. and never had any problems before.

JIM! good to hear from you, even with a non issue lol, this is a typical leather thing, it will probably shed a bit of skin and be back to full in a day or so, mine does it about once a month

Yeah, it's been crazy around here for me.I just sold one of my business's and have been busting my tail even harder with my landscaping.

I'm glad it's a non-issue. It had me worried.I have a little red slime and was wondering if it had anything to do with it. I bought some new test kits today since I was in Lancaster at that Fish Place

Yep,employees were getting lazy and good ones were becoming impossible to find. So I sold the place before they ended up costing me money.

it came out a few days ago for about 2 days and gone again.I have a toadstool that I got a few weeks ago that took about 4 days to get any extension but, I figured it was because he was on 2 TINY pieces of rubble and I sat it on some tonga and it was trying to foot (which it has) but now it won't open again since I added the new power heads. I was told once before that corals will adjust to your current and not to keep moving them until they are happy. True?

I think that is untrue. If it isn't happy because of the current then you should move it.

I agree with that, unless its mobile and it can pick up and move, but the stress of moving around the tank is hard on them, placement of powerheads for flow is a challenge and that may be why wavemakers seem to make eveyone happy, I think leathers don't like hands in the tank too

Good point Ponies...I have heard that dosing your tank regularly with concentrated currency is the best way to keep fish and coral happy. Hundreds work well though thousands are recommended for peak results.

I think they like a stronger currant but not directly on them. I may try another one one of these days.

hey there jim!!! ......do you have any pics of the corals and where your pumps are? ours likes a heavier flow (is doing better since we got the mp20s too) BUT and indirect flow......would be good to see exactly where all are in your tank set up

I will get some pics up later today. I moved my toadstool and it isn't opening up but, it is not got extension. Now some of my oldest hairy mushrooms aren't happy and 2 are all but gone.

I got some pics of it for you and the tank.I just bought a couple frags today and a clam (I couldn't resist). I was in Fredrick, Md today and stopped in at Rick's and Mr.Coral. I got a couple cool pieces and the clam. All corak frags were only $10 and the clam $25. Special for the weekend and I got sucked in. I will post pics in another thread because I have some questions on them too.
