How has the economy affected how you spend money on your reef?

Any comments on this?

Well all I can say is I hope Washington got the message today. Spending needs to stop and maybe this economy will rebound. But if it persists I see many more tanks being sold. I saw this comming when prices on housing was sky rocketing, why iam only put up 55 gallon. If this was the 80's economy I would have dual 140's again.

Since I'm not in the stock market or a realtor....and I didn't do anything stupid with my money, I'm in the clear, I spend like nothing's changed, because for me it hasn't.

well same as spinycheek i didnt get into financial trouble, however i am a college student and thats expensive as heck so i spend carefully on pretty much everything just out of habit.

Penny saved is penny earned man, My Finace says she never met a guy that watches his pennies like me. I cut coupons, Use my grocery Card for discounts, and I refuse to pay reatil for anything. Why I am able to live a little better then my neighbors.

I didn't know you had a fiance.

My solution to pay for my stuff is find new sources of income. I usually juggle odd jobs along with my regular one.

Well fortunately the only hit my husband and I took was to our thrift savings plans and that was minimal. So I can't really say that I have changed my spending habits. Our kids are grown and we don't have a lot of bills so we can afford to spend a little.

I plan on spending my money while I am alive to enjoy it.

The economy really hasn't affected us as much as it has others - my 401K is in the crapper but that loss is only on paper and I still have about 30 years before I have to worry about retirment so....

I did take up web design on the side to supplement my fish habit - I now build web sites for fish stores (as well as others) for discounts and merchandise which means I spend WAY less then I did on this hobby 2 years ago.

I've got to spend alot of money to keep the economy ticking over mate. I'm self employed, so even in the good time's, you've still got to manage your money right. Job's come and go, so it's no different to me. Plus I like my bad habbits, I mean this hobby

My 401k is back up 40% this year which is only 10% under what I lost with the dive. Unfortunatly I had to take 15k for downpayment on my house in january. Now those shares would of been worth almost double.
