I only have one clown. And it's a captive bread snowflake so it may not want to do the whole hosting thing. I wish Rose bubbles would stay small.
I think my corals will be mostly zoas and ricordia and a few SPS. SPS all up on the back rock work and the zoas and such inthe lower rocks and a bunch of clams in the sand. O yea have to get CLAMS.....I just love them. So I started with the derasa and will get a sqamosa and then some croceas and maybe a maxima or two. My wife saw some dragons breath macro at the LFS and wants some of that. And I'm playing it smart this time and letting her pick stuff she likes so she dosn't get as mad about the money I spend on it.And she has a good eye for stuff. |

Beautiful! If you use a good salt mix, MG chloride and no two part you only have to add the MG weekly (about 60 ml) and do very little water changes. You Alk and Ca should always fall into place naturally.
"Just say "NO!" to blowing your salinity composition with epsom salt and your Alk with two part." |

I have to disagree about the epsom salt, I've always used it and my corals grow fine. The only thing different between epsom and MgCL is that you add a slight amount of sulfates, which I believe are slowly consumed by denitrifying bacteria anyways.
Granted, MgCl is much easier to dissolve in water, but in terms of efficacy, I think they are functionally the same.

MgSu will raise your salinity Mg Cl will not. Salinity in sea water has many ingredients which create a balance which we try to copy. In the long run MgCl does not flush other ingredients of salinity out. In this respect epsom salt sounds rather brutal to me. I am spending about $85.00/gal for blended MgSu and MgCl etc. in a bio available blend. I am having tremendous success with arcapora frags, the new growth is horizontal without any reduction in trunk size. I say MgCL wins in the long run (does not increase salinity.) What do you think?

I like how clean you keep the back and sides glass. Corraline took control of mine. What's your secret? New tank?
