Default Coralife marine salt mix

I saw a very good deal toady at Pet Smart on Coralife Marine Salt mix. The 50 gallon bag marked down to $8.49. Does anyone use this salt mix and or can anyone give some of there input on this mix. That is a good savings from regular price. I have never used it before.

I used to use it and never had any problems with it. Since going to my big tank been getting reef crystals in the 200 gallon mix boxes, doing 50 gallon water changes at a time

A lot of people use that salt with great results. Go for it and let us know what you think of it.

In case you don't change salt much, test your water you are doing a change with just in case it's way off from your tank parms. Also, try and keep everything "normal" so you can be sure the salt caused any changes you see. Hope that helps, if this is old news you can ignore me

I agree leviT. i am doing one gallon changes every other night untill I do my normal water change level. This way i can gradually get everyone use to the new salt. Also reading levels as well.

So far things look good. No major swings in readings. I wish it would disolve quicker. Other than that it is ok so far.

I haven't used another salt for some time. We like Coralife. It provides a very balanced result. I do regular partials and never do any dosing except for dKH once in a while. However mixing for 24 hours with a powerhead has been the norm for years.
