Default RSM Mantis Mansion

Hello all,
I joined this forum a while back and went inactive while my family moved into a new house. After we moved in I finally was able to set up my tank and get things going. After I got the rock work settled and the cycle completes I pick up some live stock. As the title state I have a RSM 130 setup with an orange spot mantis and a few acans currently residing. Ill get some picks up at some point.

The tank itself is stock Rsm 130 comes with a hood with compact t5 lights, a protein skimmer, and a descant flow for my needs so far. The acans seem to enjoy the light and flow the tank provides so I do not forsee any changes until santa comes

FTS shot nothing special I think I will be moving a rock or two around to accomodate the corals better soon.

This the female orange spot mantis I have she is about 2.5 inches and I think is entering a molt phase soon. This is a pic of her when I first got her tons of personality.

Blurry shot of two for the acans I have. They seem happy in the tank so far a couple new heads have popped up

Hey all thanks for the kind welcome I hope you enjoy this little bugger as much as I do. The mantis I have is an orange spot mantis which is a smasher type and I am pretty sure it is also a female. After a couple beers a naming discussion started with my brother and I. These types of mantis come from the indo-pacific so we called up my brothers room mate who is fluent in mandarin and asked him how to say hammer. It is spelt Chui but is pronounced chewey like gum or the star wars character. So there is a story about how I named her. I did some rock moving today and moved my acans up a little higher so when the daylights come on tomorrow i will have some new pics up.

I like the name. One day I want to do a mantis tank, but that is way down the road.

I am not sure where the tank will go I already want a bigger one but I do not for see such a thing for quite some time. The only theme I am trying to keep in my tank is corals fish etc all from the same region. The mantis is fromt he SE Pacfic so I am going to try and get everything from that zome. Corals I really like are acans and plate corals which works well since they are found all over in the SE and Australia. ZOAs are also really cool I think the color combinations with them are interesting. Overall I am trying to go real slow and not push the boundaries of the tank. Hopefully come Xmas I will pick up a HOB overflow and a small sump to improve the amount of water and filtration of my tank.
