I forgot how hard it is to make something square and level using 2x4's one pair of hands and no clamps......taking way longer than it should...I need another margarita.

The key is the correct ratio of margaritas to work...just be careful though, too many and you end up with incorrect hand to arm ratio!

Nice stand there D3. There is like an optical illusion that makes the level look bowed. Can I ask why the three beams going across at the bottom?

Yes, I crushed my right ring and middle fingers right off. They put them back on and I almost lost my middle finger. LOL it is crooked now and people just laugh at me when I flick them off. I only have about 60% use of both fingers now.

Because I plan on being lazy and not putting any ply wood in there. That way I can set my sump right on it.

I got maple trim and plywood. Im staining cabernet. Its a redish color. Match my red maple cabnetry in the house. I spent way more than I expected $189.....I could of bought a stand for that.

Stands looking good mate.

Ouch on the finger alright. I've taken my finger nail and the tip of my finger off with an electric plane, and that was bad enough. Couldn't pick my nose for months after that

I finished the rough work this morning. I got to go pick up a compressor so I can nail the skin and trim on. Its starting to look like a stand.

Heres the skin im going to use. Its Maple plywood. I really liked the look of cherry but it was $40 for one sheet. Luan was only $8.99 but the wood grain pattern was too hectic. Maple ended up costing me about $26

And of course lots of sanding then the stain.

Looking nice D3. I used the maple plywood on the stand for my 45g. Then I painted over it...LOL...

Your idea for this tank sounds really cool. I can't wait to see it when it is stocked.
