These are some photos I took in April of this year off the coast of Tulum, Mexico. For those unfamiliar, that's right off of the Yucatan peninsula.

What is the 3rd and 4th pic?? What kind of coral is that?? That looks pretty nice.

That Atlantic blue tang is pretty !!

Wow!!! Amazing pics!! LOVE the first of the flounder photos - those guys are so cool!

It's really neat to see the coral we keep in our aquarium in their natural habitat

Must have been fun diving in their environment!

I have no idea what that purple coral is. I would've loved to bring some back though, it was such a vibrant color. This was a really nice reef, just snorkeling off the beach about 100 yards out. It's actually really tricky to get pics when snorkelig because the waves toss you around so much, with SCUBA, you can just sit there.

The 'flounder' is a yellow stingray, one of my favorite stingrays and one of the few that stay small enough to keep in an aquarium.

Billrob, the closest match I found for that coral is the genus Porites, possibly the species Porites porites. It sure looks the same to me. It can come in all different colors.
