Wanted to share some pics I've taken throughout the year on our many visits to the aquarium in Seattle. It's not a very large establishment, but it has a lot of great exhibits of fish and other creatures local to Puget Sound, like some otters, seals, and birds. We have a year-long family membership, and my son just LOVES going and looking at all the pretty fish

Wow, nice pictures! Those cuttlefish are freakin awesome!!! Are they dwarfs (Sepia bandensis)? I love aquariums, wish the Denver one wasn't so expensive... I like the sculpin too

Thanks, and I agree - the cuttlefish ARE awesome! They are a recent addition to the aquarium ^_^ I'm not sure if they are dwarf or not - the sign did not specify, but I also did not thoroughly read it :P

very nice pics. Thanks for sharing. I don't have a good aquarium like that close, so it's nice to see others!

Nice pics. What camera/lens are you using? It seems no matter what I do I can't get my camera to reproduce colors that well.

With my pics, when they are aquarium or outdoor, I put the ISO speed at 1600, and I will adjust my f-stop and shutter speed according to the light of the surroundings. As far as color, a lot of that is "touched up" with a simple photoshop program. I've found that no matter how well the lens or the specs of the camera, the pic will never reproduce what your eye sees as far as color. At least, in my experience that's always been the case. When I edit my photos, I basically just adjust the brightness/contrast until it matches the way I saw it.

Nope, haven't been back yet, but we're planning on heading there sometime in the next month or so. Gotta take advantage of our family memberships while we still can before the baby comes. I think our membership expires shortly before or after the due date in May. I'll be sure to post up new pics and updates after our next visit!

Sure was! They even trimmed back the crazy SPS growth they had in one of their huge tanks, and now we could see all the clams and other coral in there that was being overshadowed before.
Thanks!
