How to post photos on this forum

There are a few different ways to add photos right in your post. First ill show you how to do it all right on this forum without using any outside photo hosts.

Creating and album and posting photos all on Reef-Geeks

So you started a thread and everyone is asking for pics You have some good ones on your computer but your not sure how to get them in your thread. So first start by starting your reply to your thread. Next open a new window and come back to the forum. At the top of every page in the navigation bar you will see "Community", click on it.



After you click on community a little drop down box will, well, drop down. Now click on "Pictures&Albums"



Now you are in the Album section. If you already have an album you can click on that album to add photos to it but if your reading this post i doubt you have one so you are going to make a new album. Look on the right hand side and click on "Create New Album"



That will bring you to this next page where you will want to give your new album a name, description and select if it will be public or private. Once you've done that click "Submit"



After you click submit you will be brought to the selection and upload page. Click "Browse" and a window on your computer will open. Find the image you want to upload, click on it and click open in that box and that image will be selected. You can do this one image at a time by clicking browse again for up to 5 times.



After you have selected all the images you want (up to 5 at a time) click "Upload Pictures"



After those 5 photos have loaded you will be taken to a page where you can add captions and create an album cover. Once you do that, at the bottom click "Save Changes"



You can repeat this 5 photos at a time until your album has 60 photos in it by clicking the "Upload pictures" link again, or if you done and want to start posting photos click right on the photo you want to post.



After you click on the photo you want you will be taken to that photo and just below it you will see two options. To have the photo show up in the post you want to select the bottom option (BB code) Click right inside the BB code box and the link will turn blue.



Copy that link by pressing Ctrl and C on your keyboard at the same time. Now go back to your post where you want to add the photo and paste the link in your post by press Ctrl and V.

Thats it and your photos will be in your new album for ever and ever and you can even copy them from your Reef-Geeks album and paste them onto other forums and they will work just fine.



Adding photos to your posts using an outside photo host.


A lot of these steps will be the same as above and depending on which photo host you use some of them may be different.

So the first thing you will need to do is create an account on the photo host of your choice. I am using photobucket for this thread. After you have created your account click on "my account"



Now you can go in and either create a new album or just click upload photos



Click select photos



Make your selection as described above and once the images have loaded click save



So now to post the photo into your thread click on the photo as described above and look for the IMG code. Copy and paste over into your thread and your done
