Can't figure out how to post pic's? - Reef-Geeks

Photo hosting can be done on many sites, I use http://www.photobucket.com so I will do a step by step for this site. Or we have a cool photo gallery that you can use here. If you wish though this is the correct way to do a Photobucket procedure.

If you don't have a Photobucket account you will need to go through their account sign up procedure.

To do so go into your Photobucket account and click on "albums and upload". Once there you need to go down to where it says "choose files", don't click on that just yet. Below this there is an option to upload your pic's to a certain size. It says "Reduce to:" click on "640 x 480 (Large)".

Now that this is set you are ready to upload files.

Click on choose files, this should open your picture file on your computer. Double click on the picture that you wish to upload and it should automatically start the upload. Once this is done it will say 1 of 1 image has uploaded. Then click on the uploaded pictures thumbnail and it will open the pic by itself on another page. Now scroll down to the bottom of this page and on the right hand side there are 4 options. You want to left click on the one next to where it says "direct link". Doing so should automatically copy the link.

This being done you are ready to come to RG and post your pic.

Once at RG and when you are either posting a new thread or replying to a topic you can post the pic by clicking on the little icon that looks like a mountain with a sun over it at the top right center of the reply box. This should pop up a image box, in this box paste your Photobucket picture image url in there, be sure to get rid of the http:// that is already there, if not it will mess up your photo post. This being done you are all set

Just a note. You dont need to resize photo. just copy and past the code that has [url ] [/url ] around it into your post and it will be automatically resized

I just noticed something, if you use the photo album you will need to shoot a moderator a PM and ask them to approve your photos.
