Default Sharks and other wildlife

Hi Geeks 'm back home and since I had promised Barbara to show some pictures from "chipping" the Great White I would like to redeem my promise in the next few days. First, I have to sift and sort hundreds of photos but ....

here a first appetizer, more coming soon.

Hi Steve, one reason why the bite of a shark so fatal is. Another is the power of the shark bite. It is for adult forms (especially in adult males) as to see in the following picture, several tons.

hahaha ... no balls are necessary, this time we had some women in our team but NOT as a safety diver. I had this job in two days. Fear is always there, so it is nothing with "balls" if you're in the same water with these gigantic Bite machines. The job aboard the boats is far less dangerous than he looks, but really dangerous is the job of the divers also not, but there remains a residual risk. You must have eyes also "behind AND below" you . As long as the sharks circle around you there is no danger, the Great White always attacked from below and with lots of speed so if they swim deep below you, then it CAN be dangerous. As I know accidents or attacks has so far never been (knock on wood).

The job as a safety diver, however, is both physically and mentally exhausting. You have to pay attention to so many things, whether the photographs are good or not is unimportant then.

I hope you like the following pictures although the one or other is not really sharp or a little too dark. You don't really thinking on that if a great white is just inches away from you, you press the shutter button in the hope it will be good.

so here we go ....

to show the difference in size to human vs. shark ... by the way this cuty is approximately 5.5 - 6 meters long and it is a male

OH....MY....GOD!!!! .......those pictures are AWESOME Heinz! Thank you so VERY much for sharing them here with us ..... this is absolutely incredible! What an amazing adventure...I can not even imagine being that close to one of those great white beauties let alone being in the water with them ...so was the hose in the shark to keep water running in him? why were the sharks "captured" in that contraption? were you collecting samples from them other than chipping them? were you in any of those pics?

My plesure Barbara ..... the hose in the shark is so that water runs through its gills and he can breathe. The process of chipping should not take longer than 12 to 15 minutes, or it will be dangerous FOR THE SHARK.

I am the divers on the second picture, also on the boat in the background, the man in the chain on the right.

Here once again both pictures ....

those are great pics. What an opportunity to help mother nature. Congrats! I've swam with small sharks but 6 meter ones would freak me out. The longest I've been with are about 8 ft. It was amazing though. I'll see if I can find a good pic of it.

Indeed Steve, my friends call me sometimes a mild mannered giant, I am at least 2 meters tall and not the slimmest as in the picture to see LoL. I know this is a really Crazy hobby, but I love it and it brings me much satisfaction even if it costs a lot of time and money.
