I found a compromise on securing my rocks. I used 5/16" acrylic dowels so I could change it if I wanted to later. Just drilled a hole and stuffed the rod in.

I thought about that but still just liked being able to put them in and not needing to worry about it if I wanted to change one rock later on.

Next time one thing that I will do is build a lower shelf from egg crate. A friend of mine has his entire rock base lifted off the sand slightly so if he has a sandsifter, they have access to the entire bed.

I got videos...

My lighting is setup with the lunar cycle active. So my daily noon time peak lighting is not the same everyday. Cloud cover is replicated and some days it is the programmed amount and others it is as long as 40% lower. I like it and think it helps a lot more making the environment natural.

The wavemaker is set up as follows. On the left side of my tank there is a pump which turns on and off in 6 minute intervals all the time. On the right side of the tank there are 2 more powerheads. These 2 operate on 90 second intervals of one then the other. From 11pm to 10 am one of those two powerheads does not turn on. So to replicate my calmer waters, the left side turns on for 6 minute intervals and one powerhead on the right turns on for 90 second intervals. Since I started this I have noticed that my water is clearer and all of the fish are more active.

VIDEOS!!!!

This is about 10am under morning light -

This is about 2 pm under afternoon peak light. However, this is not the true peak as there was cloud cover that day. Lighting percentages were actually roughly half of what they are for true peak.

I am also waiting for my last order of goodies to come in. I got a 2nd phosban reactor. I got BRS HC GFO and ROX Carbon. I got clear screen to replace the black screen currently on the tank and a few other goodies.

Tank looks real nice. The rock work is really interesting. Looks like the LED's are pretty close to the front of the tank. How much light is hitting the rocks along the back of the tank?

The fixtures are mounted center front to back of the bow. I have roughly 360 par on my lower shelf and 300 on my sand bed.

I was out and about today browsing the local pet stores... NOT REEF STORES... I came home with a 29 gallon biocube with stand. The tank has never seen water. The stand is a little beat up from being on display.. everything is included except for light bulbs.. out the door $250 + tax.. I couldn't pass it up. This will soon be my new refugium replacing my current 14 gallon biocube.

Pics will come once it is implemented. I need to do a few things to it first. Gotta get it drilled for the overflow to my sump, need to get some more sand since what I have will not be enough, and clean the stand up a little bit. I expect it will be up and running in 2 weeks or so. Pics will be up then.
