I replaced the stock return to a Quiet One 1200. I am thinking of replacing the skimmer as well. When I put my ear to the tank, I just could not believe how loud the pumps are. =( I feel a bit bad for the ponies. Maybe it takes time for them to quiet down. I don't know.

I was just thinking of getting some Nassarius snails. Beast, what size tank do you have all these guys in? I cannot seem to get the cyano off of them. =/ I don't want to scare the you know what out of them. Can I just say that seahorse poo is so weird looking?! I turn off my pumps to feed as well. I tried feeding them out of a dish and they refuse to eat it out of there. I let it sit there and they would not eat out of it. They must have it dropped in front of them. Isn't that a bit strange? lol. Thank you for the compliments. I will take some new pictures later today.

I feed a min of twice a day and some times 4 to 5. They get Mysis soaked in selcon and kent zoe, 1st I thaw them in a baby food jar with a rolled up paper towl to soak up all the phosphate packed juices and then add the additives. All the animals get along fine and have plenty to eat.
Oh yah...I turn off all the pumps when feeding and the turn them on after 5 minutes just to stir up the uneaten food to give them all another chance to eat before I kick the pumps back on again until next feedings.
I hope this helps you.
AWESOME suggestions beast! thank you!!! ......forgot about the snails too - definitely a great addition to helping keep it clean - - seahorse tanks get dirty real fast due to all the feeding so keeping it clean is crucial! .......also love the idea of soaking up the bad juices!

soooooooooooooooooo happy to hear they're doing better Gina!!! looking forward to the updated pics!

Thank you for the idea on phosphates. I forgot to thank you on that! The tank is already getting dirty, which sucks. Do you guys think I should invest in a good skimmer? Or is it not necessary? I found a used Tunze nano for 100.00. Not sure if it is necessary though. How many nass snails would you add? Should I add any other type of snail? If so, what?

That Tunze is a good skimmer. It wont hurt to add it. How often and at what size are you doing water changes? Are you using good RO water for top off's and for new salt water?

For snails look at reef cleaners ReefCleaners.org | Clean Up Crews and Macro Algae - Home they have pre-made cleaner packs for different size tanks. ReefCleaners.org | Clean Up Crews and Macro Algae - Quick Crews I think for a tank with ponies in it i would stay away from the crews with crabs in them though.

So, I just typed out an entire 2 long paragraphs and my computer froze!!! Ahhhhhh!!!! I am sorry for the lack of updates. Thank you Joanne for the congrats! I saved that issue of Reef Geeks! I thought it was so cool.

The seahorse tank is still going strong and they are so enjoyable. I love them so much. They do little feed me dances for me to let me know they are hungry. I just purchased a female for the 2 males. I would like to try my hand at rearing babies. I still need to do quite a bit more research though.

My males continue to court each other. I guess they haven't figured out yet that they are both male or??? I have had to do 1 pouch evacuation and it looks like tonight, I am going to need to do another one. They get bubbles in their pouches and the bubbles make it difficult for them to swim.

I have tried to get some good pictures, but I haven't been able to. I am also having an issue with cyano growing on them. I have tried blowing it off with a turkey baster, but it is a bit rough for them.
Here are the few bad pictures I have taken. lol

Baby girl

Isn't she adorable???

Thank you! I love them too! The lady kept one with even longer cirri! This thing looked like it had hair everywhere. It was so precious. =) Looking for names for the boys and the new girl. I've had the boys for so long, I still don't know what to call them. I thought of Bubba for one, but then decided against it. I don't know. Something cool. =) Suggestions?!?!
