20 Gallon Long - Maroon Clowns

With my 20 gallon high struggling to stay balanced and clean looking Amanda and I have decided to switch things around a bit for our Maroon pair. I came up with the idea of using the previously retired 20 long which housed our corals and Ocellaris pair as the "new" display tank for the maroon pair and use the 20 high they rented as the sump/refuge.
Now for some specs on equipment: I spent approximately $15 on pvc piping and a "jet-piping" for the water to re-enter the DT; I spent $15 on a used Mag-2 pumped that was used from one of Beyond the Reef's tanks that they recently shutdown; lighting was also upgraded from a 2 bulb 48watt T5 fixture to a 2 bulb 192watt power compact fixture. Some pictures: Full Setup ![]() FTS (10K and 420nm) ![]() FTS (420 bulb only) ![]() Maroon pair hiding after being added to DT ![]() View of the Sump (old DT) ![]() View of Sump #2 ![]() Back side of tank ![]() So many plugs!

Cool!! I like the rockwork! Are you planning on adding anything else to the tank, or just sticking to LR and the maroons?

Well if they start breeding I will not complain one bit! Our other pair (Black Oc and Orange Oc) are beginning to show shines of breeding but the maroons have not as of today! Still acting nervous in the new setup.
Thank you! Thank you! Actually the maroons were being a little too abusive with the Sebae so I moved it into the Ocellaris tank. The Ocellaris pair have not formed a friendship, yet. I intend on leaving the Sebae with the Ocellaris pair and plan to get the Maroon pair a rose tip.

Well I have a shocking update....
I set this tank up thinking it would last me until Amanda and I moved out of my parents home but it appears that will not be the case. By the end of September this tank will be shutdown in favor of a 55gal with 20 gal sump to replace it. The change is due to some necessary space requirements that I will be updating all of you about around October 1st. Yes I will start a build thread once I have the tank in possession as well as the process of building the stand. We also lost our Diamond Watchmen Goby. He/She will be missed greatly as it was one hell of a sand cleaner/tank remodeler. The watchmen was replaced today by a banded sleeper goby.

I'm looking forward to the build as well. By far the largest tank I have ever maintained but should be easiest as well I suppose. I should begin building the stand next week after pay day!

It's going to be really easy. I noticed a huge difference between my 100 and my 180.

The 55 gallon will be quite "cave-heavy" but its main purpose is to be a massive frag tank. I have some big plans in the near future with a couple friends of mine and we need the tank space.
