I haven't checked in for awhile. Careful of the sexy shrimp they will eat your zoanthids if you don't keep them well fed.

You aren't kidding - those little sexies are quite the pickers. Fortunately I feed them enough that they've left the zoas alone, but I've had several people tell me stories of losing zoas and mushrooms to the claws of sexies

Is that common for ornamental shrimp or just sexy shrimp? Since the DT I'm building is small I was thinking of focusing on some small crustaceans but I was just about to start researching.

I think it's just the rule of thumb for any saltwater creature. When hungry, they will resort to any means in order to survive, even if that means picking on coral and other fish. I had read an instance of someone's fire shrimp eating a sexy shrimp almost as soon as it was introduced to the system. Turned out the person wasn't feeding the tank enough for the fire shrimp.

If you are researching critters, just make sure it doesn't say "Not reef safe". Otherwise, I would just use caution with everything else. Just my $.02!

+1 - everything wants to survive, so anything that is not well fed, is not reef-safe hahaha
