well howdy scubagal! so how's that new house doing? have you had your parents over for dinner yet? .........GREAT job on setting on the new display tank! rockwork looks perfect - lots of nice hiding spots but still plenty of swimming room! .......LOVE the swallowtail angel reminds me a little of a powder blue tang ... how does he get along with the clown? - who's claiming title as "king"? thanks for updating us too!

the house is doing well, its kinda lonely though being alone. Havent really had time to cook for my parents but all in good time.
as for the fish they are getting along perfectly! I was kinda worried but neither has claimed king. they are buds. maybe that will change after a while.

as for the angel I haven't seen her eat during feedings but she is eating algae off the rocks. Anyone know what kind of food would be best to feed a swallowtail angel?

They are planktivorous so they are going to want to eat from the water column. You could try mysis shrimp or other small meaty foods that stay up in the water. Something that live and moving might get it going so if you can get live brine shrimp to start them off and then mix in mysis to trick it on to them that might work.

what are you feeding it now? I've noticed our angels also like to pick at nori (or dried seaweed) too ... might be good to add a piece rolled up tightly and placed in a suction clip for him to pick at...I remember the first time I moved out on my own (many many moons ago ) and it was very strange at first and a bit lonely...but after a few months you develop your own groove and realize how much you really enjoy your very own space and lifestyle...it really will get easier and funner and better overall in the very near future!

great food advice everyone! She loves the plankton i have. didn't think to feed it to her. I was just using marine-s pellets and frozen veggi cubes. I will get some kelp and clip it in.

Tank looks great! My girlfriend and I are have a 20 long saltwater and a 20 high freshwater (check out our journal in geek files thread, Amanda and Toms's). Seeing your tank is really inspiring for our future 20 high. I didn't think a tank that deep could look so amazing! What kind of light do you have on it? What size sump? I don't know if we will be drilling it for a sump.
