Default Favia Story

One of my larger fish decided to push his way through some rock of which has supported a large Hammer for years and the Hammer fell on a fair size Favia. Neither coral seemed damaged, but a few weeks later the Favia has lost some color in the area that made contact. Any comments out there?

Id say if you don't have any tissue loss you are in great shape... probably a little cellular damage due to burning/stinging, but as long as the meat is still there you are in the clear

That pic is of a fungia Plate. Do you feed it?? The sting of the hammer probably did make it mad .
They stop extenting there tentacles after they are starving.

Yes, I have a couple of posts working and I posted the Fungia by mistake. Hoping to correct. I'll post a pic of the Favia when it gets right hopefully. Thanks for the info.

It was a rough shot, but the paler area is towards the back and to the right. A little less purple, no exposed skeleton. This is exactly where the Hammer feel on it.

Coral looks good over all. I would think if the sting was going to do any real damage it would have happened already. Give it a little extra TLC and i bet it will be back in no time.

It is a cool little coral. Thanks. I hated to see that hammer fall on it. Looking good so far.

The culprit is right in front of you. My clowns knock their frogspawn over EVERY SINGLE WEEK when they clean it. I really need to just suck it up and super glue the frag down. Your clowns are getting ready to spawn.

Alas, There is only one clown, but there was a mated pair some years ago. The Hammer has a base as big as my hand with multiple heads.. Its hard to tell from the picture. I do have a Barred Basslet who is suspect. He has a laberenth of tunnels in the substrate under the live rock.
