Default Trachyphyllia Coral aka "Folded Brain"

I've been wanting to get one of these, and some came in at DPA on sunday....so i had to take one home still in its shipping bag! It's about 3'' across and has been extending itself more everyday, and this guy really really glows under he actinics.

Some Trachy info:

They prefer low to moderate flow, and prefer placement on the sand or tank bottom (as rock can damage its flesh)

They will accept pieces of meaty food to eat, but has photosynthetic algae to sustain itself

known to have a strong sting, so leave adequate room between other coral.

It kinda reminds me of a giant version of a trumpet coral in the way it opens and closes
Here's a pic of mine on day one.... it's been looking better and better, and I'll get some more pics when it opens all the way.

They love to eat pellets... You can feed them easily with a clear acrylic pipe, airline tube etc... I created a small funnel at the end of a clear tube so I can feed stuff on the bottom of a 25" tall tank without getting my hands wet.

I like the acrylic tube idea, I've been looking for ideas to feed more without getting wet armpits.
