So I haven't seen my linckia starfish in almost 2 weeks, and I'm kinda concerned at this point. I know it is common for them to be in the rock work and there are a lot of places for him to hide on top of being a slow mover. I am almost tempted to star moving the rock work to see if I can find him. Any 1 have any experience w/ these guys, who might be able to give me piece of mind?

I don't, but it is small. About 3" across. Just want to know if it's alive or not. I don't care if it hides as long as I didn't kill it. I can't see any reason that it would have passed though, everything in the tank is doing well even after the tank transfer. How easy are they to kill, pardon my morbidness. |

i've been pretty successful at killing many many linkias -
two weeks is quite a while - just keep your eyes peeled!! Maybe he will surprise you! I "lost" my fire shrimp for a week just the other day, was convinced he was dead and then he came out the other day when I was feeding!! Bugger...

I know linkias are a very hard creature to keep in captivity. Unfortunately, I have not known a lot of people to have success with them. I think taking a flashlight to your rockwork to look in cracks and crevices would be a good idea, especially if it's been 2 weeks since you last saw it. I hope you find it

if you don't have a diatom outbreak or something similar I would say you're ok. Not sure on what a dead star would do to a tank though. My harlequins disappeared....near a chocolate chip star
I'm pretty sure I know who won that fight.
