New Mantis #1 Neogonodactylus wennerae - Reef-Geeks

OK since my 1st poor little mantis had a bad experience with the light and went to the big mantis play ground in the sky, I've wanted another and took awhile and manage to get a hold of 2. Here is the pics of the first since this one likes to come out and chase after krill. I thought this one would be the hard one to get pictures of, but was easier then the peacock.

He would if I let him but I fed it last night and they really don't eat every day so think it was just smacking the krill around a bit.

awwwwwwww....I love him bill!

.....he looks bigger than your first one - is he? and I love the bright deep red color - will he turn green again when his shell grows back? and 'ya know I'm gonna ask for this - - any chance you can get a video the next time at "real" feeding for us?

Yeah Chris if anything it's more red then that in person has a 50/50 pc over it and tones it down alot. They are both smashers. I didn't want to get a spearer and need to feed it fish.

This species can change colors when it molts so it might change back, not sure but it's almost the exact same size and is the same kind as before. I'f I can get some live food will be more video worthy with feeding on frozen krill it doesn't fight back so no battle just comes out and takes it. Needs some small crabs or shrimp.

Well my little shrimp had his first crab encounter, kinda lame but little more active then the peacock, he let the crab come in his house watch his favorite cable TV show have pop corn cocktails then leave to the guest room where he is still there tonight after a day so who knows.

Anyway heres a little video of at least the red one having a little boxing match.
