That's the only reason I have not got one. If I knew how often a new starfish was needed to be fed to them I could make a much better educated decision.

If you buy the larger star fish it will take them a while to eat the whole thing. When they are almost done with it go out and find another one. Just ask your LFS to order one or two every month or look for people trying to get rid of coral predators like chocolate chip stars

They'll eat chocolate chips too? The little bit of research i did said they only eat certain stars. That's a plus cus the petco here sells them for kinda cheap like 12 to 15 bucks

My lfs feeds them chocolate chip star legs. They cut off a leg and trhow the starfish in another tank so it grows it back. Apparently they arent picky when it comes to the species of starfish. It was awesome watching them chow down.
