Default Reason to feed polyps more often?

I woke up this morning to find two of my anemone shrimp G-O-N-E. Then I found one of them. Check out the lowest polyp in the pic. Does this happen all of the time? Or maybe I had dumb shrimp?

My shrimp stay away from my polyps, maybe that's why.

Are you sure the shrimp did just shed and is hiding and the polyp got the old shell?

I would think the shrimp would be too big for the polyp.

Nope.....he is officially gone. Talk about desperation, I picked up the whole colony and tried to pull the little guy out. The poly closed even tighter. At eight bucks, that was an expensive meal.

I'm thinking that the polyp was just eating the molt.

Often times when the shrimp molt they hide until their skeleton hardens again. I'm not surprised you can't find it. Keep looking for a couple days and you might see it pop back up again.

I think I would agree Craig. Those little shrimp are pretty quick and will hide for a while after they shed there shell since there so soft. Brebre give it a day or so before you condemn the polyp.
