Hi, my name is Kimberlee. I decided to join here in an attempt to extend my knowledge of this great and vast hobby. I've had a 55gal, a 20 long, and now have a 40B which I just set up last week. I plan on adding the sump tomorrow, it was put off due to a finger injury.
My 40B has a 4 bulb 36 watt T-5 set up, but I'm thinking more and more about going w/ halides. Also I have a modified sea clone skimmer rated for a 100gal system. The live stock list is endless if you include all the corals, though I'm trying to get the softies into new homes and go w/ a sps, lps tank. Fish include a pair of 1 year old onyx clowns, a ruby red cardinal and an electric blue damsel. And the pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Since you guys seem to like pic, this is the forum for me because I like to post them. |

I LOVE that paly!!
Anyway questions are posted in the part of the forum that it relates to best. For example a fish question, goes in the fish geeks section. It can be confusing sometimes- "should I ask a coral question in the corals section or the reef section"- but it really makes no difference at all, and if it does- then the mods can move your question to the appropriate forum. The nem is a BTA, and if I sent you my onyx clowns my husband would have my head on a pole. He payed for them. No their not laying yet, their too young still. I plan on collecting when they do, so I'll let you know is you want some. I will finish the sump up tomorrow and put the whole build up when I can get good pics of everything.
Thx, for the welcome |

I've had my clam 6 months or so. No more just him, but I keep eyeballing clams thinking another in my near future. I like the T-5s, but have seen halide set ups that make me think I'd like to go that direction. I'll have to go back to work though just to pay the increased electric. In the plans just so I can get a bigger tank, they really should offer us reefers a support group.
And as requested more pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I bet if you added 2 more T5 bulbs to that tank - and made sure you were using bulbs that put out awesome PAR, you could keep anything under the sun and make those metal halide guys
![]() hehehe I think a MH on a tank as small as yours would be too much heat more than anything else, and could just lead to temp swings which would brown out your corals!!

I'm trying to decide on the next clam I should get, I think I'm ready for something a little more challenging. Maybe there should be a pole. I'll take suggestions and as soon as I figure out how to set 1 up we'll have a pole to figure out my next clam. That's what I call a support group, though my husband might want me in a tanks anonymous group.
