Wanted to say hello to everyone here and a quick intro. Our family has been playing with aquariums for many years (20 plus years total). We decided to try a reef tank (75 Gal) about 18 months ago and love it. We have just purchased a 125 Gal and will be building a stand/ canopy/ wall unit along with all of the inter-workings over the next few months. We also would like to start a frag tank soon. We look forward to the adventure and talking with everyone here.

LOL thats awsome !! I myself have three girls that love the world of saltwater allthough never seem to understand why I dont want to add things like Octopus and Rays in my reef tank ! Several months ago my eldest daughter wanted a bio-cube for her birthday allthough it has very quickly become 1 more tank for my wife and I to take care of allthough she is quickly developing a good understanding for what is really going on in her bio-cube !

....that's a female for 'ya! ...always a supervisor never a "worker" ....sounds like Marley will be taking after daddy's footsteps in this hobby eh? ..........so when are you planning on starting with the 125g? do you have all the equipment you need or are you adding to that list slowly?

I think it's great the whiole family has an interest in the hobby. Even if most of them just want to pick out stuff to go in to it. It's a great learning experience teaching them what can / can't go in to a tank together and why.
My kids love my tank and theur time at the fish store. I truely believe it gives them a greater appreciationg for the environment and preserving nature. Of course it's cool when you're at the public aquarium with a class trip and the kids are all oooing and ahhing and you hears your's go "Eh - my dad's is cooler" ![]() Welcome to the geek - it's great having the whole family here. |

Can't wait to see some pics of your 75, and as another 125 owner, its always fun to watch how someone sets up theirs... are you planning a mixed reef? .................. and building your own stand.... very wise choice! theres lots of things i'd do different, that's probably the biggest one, along with drilling the tank.. |
