Rebuild Comments:
Had a good stand building experience. The stand I built was sturdy enough for a 180g. Wife said it was to big of a monstrosity for our 2 bdrm apartment so I scrapped it 1/2 way thru. The light is suspended about 7 inches from the top of the tank on some supports I cut our of 2X4's and painted, very sturdy. Sump was fun and a breeze to build. Plexiglass from hardawre store was easy to measure and cut...I used both a jigsaw and my table saw...no burning or melting and the saw teeth were normal lumber cutting teeth, not the close together fine teeth. Siliconing was easy as well. The baffles work great and it didn't leak on the first test. Here's a great website on sumps btw melevsreef.com. Improvements to be made include: -Activated carbon sock on the sump supply...got a baggie on there now but its not efficient. - Balasts on one of my actinics might be going bad. Might need a new light -Bigger skimmer for sure -Power heads |

......the "freakin xenias" look extremely happy too ![]() ....be sure to stay on top of them or else they could take over ......we also had an "issue" with starburst polyps - - finally got rid of them ......very nice hand work for sure! ...so what's next on your list?

It looks so pretty!!! How do you like the 46 bow? I'm thinking of getting one. right now I have a truvu acrylic with built in sump and I hate it. The overflow/sump is a pain. I got the tank used and it was scratched to bits.
The the bow help or hinder pictures? |

Deliquent as usual I am... No pics at the moment cause it looks embarassing. Got a ton of brown algea break out....prolly due to a shrimp i cant find. Nitrates are in range though.
Sump is working nicely....siphon pump intake got clogged the other day and almost had a flood but it was averted. Now I'm losing my balast on my PC's...only running with a 150W MH Any suggestions on a new light? Looking for ~300W and would like clams some day when the damn thing stabilizes Cheers, Chris |

Are you looking to get a whole new light? How about T5's or one of the new LED setups?

Was looking for a completely new light. The MH is in the middle of the light and I have that darn cross piece that blocks half of it. I'm not very electrically inclined so I'll prolly buy something off the shelf. I was thinking something like this
Current USA Nova Extreme Pro T5HO 10k/460nm Actinics That should be enough light for clams right? |

Ordered this one this morning. I like it better than the Current USA equivalent even though its a few bucks more.
