WTB: Corals of the World or AIMS ID CD - Reef-Geeks

I lent out my copy of the AIMS Coral ID CD, and it was never returned to me, so now I'm on the hunt for one.

I'm also looking for a gently used copy of the three volume Corals of the World by Charlie Veron.

If anyone has either, please let me know.

I doubt they'd be online, they're pretty dry stuff for someone to scan. Not to mention, I doubt someone would scan in all the photos.

Yeah, they're out of print, so I'm looking for a used copy.

Yeah, the first link is to the AIMS site, which *used to* sell the AIMS CD. *grumble* *stomp*

No joy on the others (one just redirects to amazon, the other comes up a dud for me.)

Corals of the World - Coral ID

It seems they've put all the CD-ROM info on the web, or something like that. Not sure if this helps you at all, but thought I'd give it a shot.

Yup. What's missing there is the cool flowchart-type process of the CD. By answering multiple questions (e.g., "Are the coralites 5-7mm apart, 7-10mm apart, 10-20mm apart")- you can go from a genus down to a handful of species, sometimes the exact species.

The website is like handing a dictionary to someone who doesn't know how to spell a word. Good as a reference, but not great if you don't know what you're looking at.
