Thanks. The Sundial itself is not marked, but the manual is for #1150,1151,1152, 1153.
The timer itself is mdl. #TM0014. I've replaced two of these over the past 3 years.

here's what I got from Current USA's site.

One of the timers on my SunDial appears not to be working-can this be replaced?

Unfortunately the timer on the SunDial T5HO is not able to be replaced. Please contact your dealer about replacing the unit if the timer fails within the warranty period.

The hoods are out of warranty, but I'm told that I can't even buy them since they're no longer being produced. No replacement timers are available I'm told.

Can you bypass the old timer and use a lamp timer?

Yes, I can. Its kind of a cool system. We have some really old timers that still work fine. Who would of thought? The way its set-up there's a single power cord per hood. Each timer runs a pair of bulbs. It also has moon lights. Running a single timer bypasses all the features.

So one cord for everything? That stinks but at least you can still put the main lights on a timer that way.

I guess running all T-5 full blast for 10 hours will be fine?

You might have to work up to 10 hours but you can do it. Can you get inside the fixture and split the lights into a few groups? Then you could put timers on each.

With the timers I believe I was running daylight at about 10 and actinics at about 12. You're saying I might want to reduce a bit and work up to 10 with them being on all the time for 10?
Too much wiring for me. I'm no electrician. I've been running 10 for a week and all looks happy. By the way with 2-36" Gisemann 15K Aquablue T-5HO and 2-36" Gisemann 22K Actinic+ do you think its enough light on the substrate 20" from the lights for any clam?

you should be fine. I run T5HO's and my tank is 24" deep. Everything seems happy.

Thanks just checking, you're saying that with my lighting some clams would do well? Even high light clams?

You can grow any clam you want under a quality t5 fixture Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!

Looks like your sundial has individual reflectors, which is good - so with good quality bulbs you should be set, in my non-expert opinion - haha

Here's some references on PAR values of individual bulbs if you want to look at using a different bulb combo next time around to increase the available PAR to your tank and corals for more growth! T5s and choosing bulb combos based on PAR - Where to start

I've ben using the Giesemanns for over three years. They were rated with great PAR value. I've been looking at the ATI recently. They do compare. Thanks. Its funny, but I was dealing with some MH addicts a few years ago.

I use wavepoint and really like them, but I haven't tried anything else yet either.
