One of my relatives was dropping hints for Christmas presents and she mentioned that she would like to have a family tree figured out. I know there are lots of online sites that do this kind of stuff. Have any of you done it and if so do you have any recommendations?

Does yours fork or just go straight up?
![]() Never done it, but a buddy of mine has done it, but not through the online sites and it was/is a LOT of work. If they really do a good job you would be getting a great deal IMO |

a colleague of mine is really into that and I think has a great resource...I'll find out on Monday and share with you...(she found out that she's actually related to the Cherokee tribe - even got an official certificate of authenticity as an Indian from her research!)

Dont have a clue about online places but ive heard the Mormon Church has the most info on genealogy.
from wiki "LDS collections The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) has engaged in large-scale microfilming of records of genealogical value. Their Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, houses over 2 million microfiche and microfilms of genealogically relevant material, which are also available for on-site research at over 4500 Family History Centers worldwide." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genealogy |

Yup a friend of mine was a LDS and each Hall has a office that is dedicated to Genealogy....I looked for some stuff in there and found that my 3x great uncle was the Chief of the Seminole tribe Chief Osceola and John Wesley is also an uncle of mine on my Fathers side.

Hey skinz...here's the site:
http://www.familysearch.com (belongs to LDS)...my colleague recommends trying their "search" feature but using limited info - only enter 1st and last name, and city/state...apparently if you add too much info the search comes up empty...I hope this helps!
