I know I'm not really new to the club anymore but I have an off topic question.
As you may know I am graduating from a 4 year university, major Finance, minor Economics. I am stressed trying to plan my life. Where will I work, where will I live, how will I pay back student loans (first born maybe).... ![]() I need some career advice to help me survive this new chapter . I'm assuming you all have worked in the "real world" for some time and could provide helpful guidance and personal lessons . I need help trying to find a career path related to my degree. I can tell you what I don't like and things I am good at, with that maybe you would point out career areas I have overlooked. about me: I understand math and financial systems very well Don't want to work in big corp America, more of a small town girl Not much of a sales woman (most finance jobs are sales) extremely analytical, organized, determined, and a huge fan of strategic planning love anything that has to do with the ocean, animals, and plants I find Financial Literacy a big topic that needs more attention I enjoy the hunt of researching new projects (ie reefs, and other things) Okay geeks Help me find my path

well if you like that sort of thing what about NOAA or even some of the other govt agencies. They have some great jobs out there and it's a govt job. pretty secure. My minor is in accounting and major is business but I'm not using either one anymore lol.

First off I am not a prime example of any one to ask for advice either./
Try to keep a posative outlook no mater what happens. 1 what positions in your filed of work are available in your area. 2 Are you willing or wanting to relocate. |

Hey scubagal!
![]() Well the good news is that a business degree majoring in finance and economics is VERY universal and can be used in every field - government, corporate, banking, nonprofit... the bad news is that there are literally thousands of jobs that you are qualified to work in ....but MORE good news: here are 2 websites that will really help you in this search! ![]() This site is a site I created for Delaware's students - while it's more geared towards middle and high school students, this section of the site will allow you to really outline your goals and narrow your search...I'd start here and then move onto the second link....here's the first link: http://www.yesyoucande.com/index.php/your_future_job/ That site also has a career exploration tool but it is tied in with Delaware standards and requires a log in etc. specifically for Delaware students (it's really an incredible tool too..........)....BUT, here is a public site that enables you to explore different career options and match them to your interests and your degrees :Careers After College Good luck and I hope this helps!!!! ![]() (funny.........I have a business degree too - major in accounting - and I'm working in marketing!!! ..........BUT it's a small agency so I'm also responsible for all the accounting and agency finances so I guess there's a fit there afterall eh?!)
