Default New 150 startup

So I have decided to go ahead and start a thread that can keep some of use entertained for the next couple months. I bought a used oceanic 150 last week and havent had time to start anything on it yet. Well tommorow will be the first day I get to start working on it. I went out last night and bought some sand paper and a red mahogany stain. Also I got a satin MinWax clear coat. Satin Spar Urethane Quart
I will start sanding and restaing the stand tomorrow as it was a little rough, which is to be expected, thus it is over 10 years old. I know how you all like your pictures so I will be sure to take plenty of them and get them up before, during, and after everything I do.

Hey Barbara I moved this thread over to Geek Files after realizing it would be better for a build thread, how do I delete this one?

Ya, came with aquarium, stand, a Tidepool II wet/dry, a HOB overflow, and 1000 GPH return pump. Also there are 2 36" T5 strip lights, which he said are decent lights but they are older so Im not quite sure if they are good or not. I will have to look at them closer and ask you guys about them. All I know is they are 36" with two bulbs in each and they have the ballast not on the lights but built into the cord.

So the weather last night ruined my plans of getting a clear coat on this morning, its so cool and humid that stain was still to tacky. Will probably check on it tonight after work, another 12 hours or so should dry it up.
Ya I wish we had a lowes close, the closest one to me is St Robert, about 45 min away . Building everything yourself feels so much more rewarding, I think my next project after this one is finished will prob be a canopy with prob 4 sets of LED's in it and some t5's. Have been doing a little research and video watching and it doesnt look to dificult, and a hell of a lot cheaper than buying them made. Also the options are sooo vast when you DIY.

I know what you mean. We had snow this morning with a little ice under it. I love Missouri.

I know right, our weather sucks. I don't mind the cold nor the hot I just wish it wasn't changing daily here all the time.
