Default start of a 75 reef

this will be my first salt water tank and it will take a couple months to set up. this is because i dont have the money to get everything all at once this is what im starting with. it is a perfecto tank and stand 48 long 18 wide and 20 high

ohhh nice and a good 6 bulb 48" t5 fixture will prolly be perfect over that bad boy - what kind of lighting are you thinking about??

thats the exact one i was thinking about the aquatic life 6 bar 54 watt each, with 4 1 watt led moon lights 3 exhaust fans a built in timer and one plug

nice - returnofsid used to have a 6 bulb t5 fixture over his 75 before he upgraded to his 200 - I bet he's got some good recommendations on bulb configurations

He was able to keep anything under the sun in his tank with that light

alright that would be perfect

alright problem number 1: where water returns to the tank it is to high and does not fit into the slot..... cut som of the pvc pipe right?

You should post up a list of all the equipment your thinking of getting.

How big are you going to make the sump? Are you going to paint the back glass?

its going to be a saltwater reef tank filled with alot of coral and fish

and the sump is a 30 long 36 long by 12 wide and 18 high i think the back of this tank is going to be black but its not going to be paint but vinyl (word association game thats why i said wanted after barb said vinyl) lol and idk of the protien skimmer yet bc i still havent made up my mind and i will have a quiet one pump 3000 to return the water from the sump

thats a great size tank for a sump. Why vinyl for the back? Its really easy to paint the back and it looks good too.

If you haven't already narrowed down your skimmer options, at least try to get an idea of the bigger of the two's footprint, so you can leave the proper amount of room in the sump design..

vinyl bc paint chips and gets scratched over time and vinyl will stay on 4 ever and its very durable( and mabey less expensive) lol

Hey Nate if you are still looking for a light I was just getting ready to post my 48" Nova Extreme Pro over on DRC for $200. Bulbs are less then 6 months old and are already set up for a nice configuration for growth and color.

Needs a new leg if you aren't hanging it but otherwise it's in really good condition.
