Well I hate to admit it but I got another tank. This time I am going with a 40g that I just picked up from Msbeanctr the other day. The main reason I am going with this tank is because my little 12 gallon is jam crammed full. The second main reason is that I have recently had the pleasure of watching my 75 gallon crash. I lost approximately 75% of my corals that were in it. The remaining 25% are now in the new 40g and actually looking great now.

My plan is this, I set up the 40 gallon next to my desk here. I can watch it every day. As for my 75 I barely ever look at it and it was too late when I noticed it crashing. So I plan on transferring all the corals, clams and fish out of my 12 gallon into the 40, tear the 12 gallon down completely and set it aside in case one of my kids wants to start their own tank in the future. I am going to use the light on a 20 gallon quarantine tank. Therefore I would be able to clean up and sell my current 24 gallon Aqua Pod that I have been using for my QT. Next I am going to tear the 75 gallon apart, remove the sand bed and possibly go bare bottom as I think my crash was caused by my sand. It is larger sized grains and I think it trapped too much detritus causing high nitrates. If I do this I plan on rebuilding a custom stand that I can fit an auto top off in and possibly a larger sump with a RDSB.

So when the dust settles I should only 2 tanks, the 40 gallon and the 75 gallon.

Well on with some pic's. I snapped these in a hurry so they aren't' that great.

You will notice that I have corals in there too, The tank and rock were completely established. I put my corals out of the 75g in there just to rescue them. I also have put one rock from the 12 gallon in there, it has a clam on it that the clowns were harassing so I took a chance on it.

Rock from the 12g, notice the clam on the right is sunken in a bit. And yes the clam on the left is black with white stripes and a gold center

RBTA from the 75g, this was the largest of my 3 now it is in the middle slot.

This Crocea was in the 75g and you can see the bleaching on the mantle. I never realized this until I took it out, it was being shielded by some rock.

Well that is all I have for now, I will get it all transferred into the tank and get a bunch of pic's then.

This is my $100 Lobo colony, I was super scared to buy it but it is doing great. It is my most expensive coral.

My original RBTA, it was looking pretty poor in the 75g. Doing much better now.

New Maxima from Clams Direct.
