Default Canister filter

Does anyone on this list use the AQUATOP CF-300 Canister Filter? I have been wanting to go to a canister filter for some time. Cost was the biggest issue for me. I came across this above filter and read reviews a watched videos on the product. It has good reviews. Also right now the price is awesome. Wanted to check with the site before I order.

the only issue with them is that you need to clean them every week. There's so much crud that gets trapped in canister filters. I don't use one anymore, so I'm not much help.

I still have mine, a Fluval FX5. I only use it when I'm rescaping to grab all the small floating gunk. It also makes a good large scale carbon reactor.

For regular use it is a PITA. The weekly tear-down and cleaning takes a long time and if skipped it will screw up your tank chemistry.

They have their place, but you have to use them correctly.
