Blue Tang

They are amazing fish

LOL i got no facts to say how amazing they are.

But i have bought 2 of them "little ones"

Pics soon as they were only put in the tank 1.5 hours ago

I was always quite partial to tangs, the blue ones are gorgeous.

Tiny little blue tangs i like the way they hide seems that they are sleeping . I have also one this, i have try again with a bigger one but my purple tang was ripping it apart So i said why not try a tiny i bought it and it was like a damsel and my purple tank didnt even notice that little pall .

Yes Chuck if you have a purple tank only with a smaller tank in size want mater him . I tell you that miserable blue tank i had before the purple tank was hitting it so hard that it was flipping over the water surface

I have had 2 blue tangs in the past and my wife loves them. The first one we had for a long time and it got sick. We nursed this fish for months and it ended up blind and eventually couldn't hang on. That fish did not want to die, it was a fighter.

The second one was just as strong but grew too large for our 4 foot tank, so we traded her for some corals. She went to a 6 foot tank and has never been happier. Hated to see her go but it was the right thing to do.

We had a powder blue and that thing was just an azz--hole. When we found the powder brown that we currently have now, the powder blue went back to the store. Beautiful tang but really an azz. That fish would beat the hell out of any other tang and even took huge chunks out of MAMA clown when mama was trying to protect her eggs. Mama clown had huge areas of flesh missing on her sides from the powder blues spine.

So like I said we have a good size powder brown that is a very calm fish really. I think we will try to put in a tiny Blue and see what happens. It's very cool to see them grow and they have great personality. Maybe we'll get two!

Nice Andrew. When we got our hippos tangs they were the size of a nickel and we were worried they would go over the overflow. They are about 5" or 6" now

Andrew...they are so cute, and love that they're out together too..very cool...we have 2 hippos (blues) that I absolutely love...couldn't get shots of them because they hide when I bring out the camera but they're personalities are great...they play games, like to play hide-n-seek with me (just like the flame angels) and when I sit at the end of the tank and just stare in, they like to stare back and seem like they're really checking you out...they started as the tiniest fish in our tank (180g) and are now the biggest! they are actually bigger than 6" now...closer to 7 or 8" and are magnificent!
Good luck with yours...I know you'll enjoy them...and they grow really fast too so you'll have to provide growth pics in this thread every month or so!

you're right...they do need the space...sorry to hear about the losses chuck...also surprised about your powder blue...we've had ours for 4 years or so and while he IS the "king" of the tank (and let's everyone else know it)...he isn't really too nasty about it and he's so much fun to watch! he loves the pumps and constantly swims up to them head on then swims back and then darts again at them (repeatedly)....he also plays chase with me...he'll follow me as I quickly move up and down the length of the tank and then around to the other side etc...too funny ...great personality...maybe we just got lucky?
