Catalina Goby - Reef-Geeks

So I was at my LFS last weekend and they had a pair of these cute little gobies. I knew they liked cooler water, but I wasn't sure how low. I couldn't pass them up so now they are sharing a tank with the file fish. They are very entertaining little guys.

I think my tank is about 3-7 degrees too warm depending on which source you believe. I have read claims that they can live up to 2 years so we will just have to see how they do. I am keeping them at 75 and for right now they are doing well.

I need to try and get some close ups as its so easy to lose these guys in a larger pic.

No I have not been down there since the meeting, it's a little far for me when DPA is 6 or 7 miles away

Is that blue torqu still there???

I had one Ellen, they don't do god at our reef's temps. Mine died within 2 months and it was horrible watching it die.

What temp were you running your tank at? I may end up setting up another small tank just for them. I would hate to see them die too soon.

My tank was at 78 to 80 deg.

Gorgeous fish, but they come from the cool waters off California, I'd recommend setting up another tank.

Hi endo . is your duncan coral polips green with pink or is the light that makes them pink;

They do have a slight tint of purplish pink to the polyps, but the lighting makes it look brighter.

so what's the verdict on these fabulous gobies? are they still in the 45g or did you set up a separate tank for them?
