so as the name suggests I have decided that I want to get something a little weird for my tank. currently I have in the aquarium 2 Banggai Cardnialfish, a Midas Blenny, and a Temmincki Fairy Wrasse. so any suggestions will have to be compatible with these fish. so any ideas!?

my vote is the A. clarkii. There are some designer clarkii's too.

yeah I do like the clarkii clowns alot! i heard they have a lot of personality and are a little beefer then percula clowns. I was just afraid they would be too aggressive for my tank. I would consider a designer one but only if it wasn't super expensive. what do you think of some of the other fish. I found some really funky ones that seem to be compatible with my system.

the Two-line Monocle Bream would be my favorite in that entire list, plus it's going to get 8" long so it can be your center piece.

and clarkiis are harmless!! Id bet the pseduochromis would be more aggressive...
with your wrasse and midas tho be sure to keep a lid on there so you have no jumpers! I forget if you have a lid or not

....they're not as bad as some maroons or saddlebacks can be, but they are extremely territorial - - at least that was our experience.....what about a flame hawk????? they're quirky, gorgeous and will do fine with you other fish???

are you sure that clarkiis are too aggressive. i really wanted to get a pair. could you think of any other clowns that similar to them but less aggressive? I did think about getting a hawfish but I would prefer a longnose or a falco to a flame. what about those dottybacks I posted?

I don't know if you are keeping corals in your tank or not, but I have one of these on my fish wish list just because they look so "weird" Probably not a good idea though if you have ornamental shrimp in there.

pretty sure the filefish are reef safe - though sometimes they get hungry and eat corals
thats the biggest risk!!

but getting a filefish brings up all sorts of feeding issues. I like being able to feed everything one type of food instead of having to hand feed some of them.

I dont really find filefish that attractive so to me they are totally not worth the headache. as glen said I dont want to be target feeding fish any more than I have to.
