I know that raccoons are relatively easy, and ovals are practically impossible to feed, but are there other semi-easy species? More specifically, will they eat prepared food and not just live coral polyps? They're such gorgeous fish, but I know many species starve to death because of their specialized diet.

It also looks like most like to eat inverts like we try to keep in the tank. Brine shrimp, pods, rotifers, mysis. just make sure that it's chopped up good so it will fit in their mouths. They have some tiny mouths.
Here's a care guide I found. Saltwater & Marine Reef Aquarium Fish Care & Breeding Guide: Angelfish, ButterflyFish, Gobies & More another Animal Planet :: Fish Guide -- Butterflyfish another Butterfly Fish Species Here's on that tells you which is easiest Butterflyfish, Family: Chaetodontidae Also check www.fishbase.org They really get into detail. Like here is the dietary requirements for one of the butterfly fish http://www.fishbase.org/trophiceco/D...me=capistratus

I agree with Glen - small mouths = slow eaters... so they need to be given time to eat...
A feeding dish/bowl may be a great solution once you train them. I've also seen butterflys eat nori with tangs, and other larger fish as they get involved in the feeding frenzy associated with dinnertime
