I did, I was so wrong! I actually thought it was their fault for not warnin me that would happen!!
But Variko- I recently visit another forum where even the show tanked was an argument!! I simply posted- I don't like their practice and I should be able to vent that here in what's supposed to be a fish loving forum- but even that turned into an argument. Yes we all "try" what's typically impossible, or have made mistakes. This has been the only place where people don't turn it into a "who's right about which detail" type fight. Oh and yes Variko you have a whole slew of problems ahead!! I saw your first tank addition, lol |

Geeks like to cause problems sometimes just so we can think of a way to fix it. I agree about this forum. We have a diverse group of people with different methods and styles, yet we respect each other. As long as RCA and I steer clear of politics its always calm here.
Well there was that other thing I did tho....

........![]() I forgot to mention my biggest mistake ![]() After I stocked our 180g (the first time) with the fish I really wanted - and researched on prior to purchasing, AND waited 6-8 months for my mandarin - all was hunky dory! Then, I saw this super cute tiny little bright green carpet anemone! I just HAD to have it! The LFS at that time told me it would be fine to add to my tank, so I did! For 6 months all was still good...except I kept finding empty snail and crab shells and my cute little carpet was now 3 times the size and looking sooooooooooooo healthy and happy.............and then, little by little, I started missing fish ......and then one day I SAW him smothering and rolling my jawfish into his mouth!!!![]() ![]() .......I had no where to move him so I put him up for sale.......but before he was purchased he had eaten ALL my fish but 3!!! He is now safely in his own tank with 2 loving saddlebacks

ALL LEARNING COSTS MONEY NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE 'STUDYING'.
---------- First let me point out that this is one of my favorite things about this forum- instead of beating him up and acting like a bunch of flawless prudes, inlanders "mistake" gets turned into a discussion about the same mistake we've all made. No drama. Love that. Anyway yes- my first saltwater purchase was a clown fish and a sebae. Put in my tank, oh I'd say about 3 days after I filled it up! Then when my live rock came in the mail, I threw all 200 pounds in straight from the shipping box. ------- This is exactly what the tv show does. And I love the puffer fish story, sounds like Looney Tunes.

The Sweetlips is absolutely awesome.
But this forum is 80% of the reason my tank is successful. I'm running into speedbumps with this huge tank I just picked up and while my boyfriend comes up with suggestions, he thinks I'm nuts because I respond to each suggestion with, "Let me see what the Geeks say."

They will eat just about anything they can catch. Ive watched them eat urchins that have stumbled into them. It doesnt happen to everyone but our experience has been that they need to be in their own tank.
