Default preds in the fuge?

Would it be wrong to add a predator or 2 to my 55g fuge? Im thinking a white eyed moray, snowflake moray, blood red hawk, pop eye soldierfish, or maybe grow a bunch of xenia in there and get a tassled file fish? Im thinking Ill be fine as long as whatever I place there doesnt eat pods.

Should be able to, but remember that morays are escape artists and will crawl in pipes, overflows and out of the tank.

Thats for sure, and they can grow fast, and eat quite a bit.... lots of waste, but if your system can handle it, that would be pretty cool. but i'm not sure how happy it would be in a "fuge" type environment.
The xenia idea is cool, i heard that somewhere before.... that it can be used as a biological filter instead of, or with macro algae.

The xenia with a file fish to eat it is where Im leaning. Plus a tassled file would look good among the algae

skip the predator eels..........filefish and xenia is a cool idea though ....but the filefish will eat pods too so you'll need to set something else up to get your pods if you're thinking of pods for your main tank

Theyd eat my pods too? Why does everything wanna eat my pods? It seems that this is my limiting stocking factor. I like too many pod dependant fish. Im getting a grouper, naming him earl and calling it a day. No need for delicate inverts or worrying about nitrates. Ill feel earl pod dependant fish.

If the reason you want so many pods is for the dragonets, then you can just train them to eat frozen. It takes about 2 weeks, but it's not too difficult. I would actually recommend that so you are not wholly dependent on an unpredictable pod supply. It would be like keeping a python in your yard and hoping it finds enough of its own food.

hahaha - on a side note, d3monic has a great video on training mandarins to eat in this thread Scooter/mandarine question - with all these types of picky fish, its about presenting food to them in a way they will be willing to try it, once they try it for a while, they move on to actually wanting to eat it - just like teaching your kids to eat broccoli by adding cheddar cheese sauce

Isolate in a breeder net and wean them from live mysis and brine to thawed mysis and brine. Then start adding in bloodworms and selcon.

I saw a video on melevsreef about how he fed his mandarin in a tank with agressive feeders. I dont really know why Im worried about pods. Mandarins are way down on my list. I should be stuffing my 55g fuge with macro, calling it a filter, and not caring about what the pods do. Do pods help feed corals?
