Default favorite tangs/surgeons

What are some of your favorite tangs/surgeons? I am liking the purples (not the price tag however) and the scopas so far. I have excluded them from my build because of the need to either keep 1 or a group. My OCD doesnt like me having just 1 of any particular fish....

I love the achilles. I have a Powder blue, a yellow and a lavender tang in my tank. I love them. The purple tang is beautiful too. I also like the Naso and unicorns. Just the whole family lol.

My favorite is either Powder Blues or Blonde Naso's. I really want a Naso but I haven't decided yet if I will get one. My tank size is a little small for a Naso

My favorite it the Kole Tang, for many reasons. They seem to be much more resilient and Ich resistant than almost all of the other types of tangs.

And like the Hippo tangs they all have a very friendly and individual personality. I have one that I have had for 3 years now. It will eat right out of my hand and doesn't run when I come close to the tank like my yellow and hippo tangs.

The problem with the Powder's and Naso's is that they are not only Ich magnets, they also tend to not do well unless your tank is well established. In a newer tank I have found over the years that they do well for a short period of time then tend to stop eating and waste away or get sick and I personally think that they should remain in the sea, this is just my opinion though.

What ever type of tank you do get remember to feed it lots of greens, I feed mine not only Norri sheets but I also feed id fresh spinach, lettuce and Kale leaves. they like the spinach and lettuce but only pick at the Kale a little.

the Tomini "flame fins" are nice too! just like a Kole, but with bright colors same feeding habits, and a relatively small tang that you can keep for years

- and you don't need a school of tangs - they will school with whatever fish you have in your tank.... my lieutenant and yellow school with my wrasses and blenny from side to side of the tank.... its funny, all my fish are always on one 1/2 of the tank or the other, never spread out throughout!! hahaha

schooling lunatics

I see some of you have been able to mix species successfully. I didnt know you could do that. These fish get a bad rep from the books I have read. Disease prone and can only have 1 or a school.
I am liking the mimic halfblack, spotted bristle tooth, scopas (still lol) and the timini. I have crossed off the purple.

i like to think of them like cichlids - if the body shape is different enough, and the coloration is different enough, they wont care who else is in the tank - it could be floating for all they care
