Rhinopias frondosa a.k.a the Weedy Scorpionfish

Although angler/frog fish was a good guess since I have this little fellow in another tank.

The rhinopias is new and is only eating feeder fish at the moment. I will be getting some live grass shrimp for him in hopes of eventually switching him over the frozen shrimp.

The frogfish has been with us a couple months. He is only about an inch long is is eating live ghost shrimp. I am hopeful that I can get him to eat frozen krill for the long term.

incredible looking. spent an hour at work showing people the game! non-reefers were the most astounded. what's the guy/girl eating? btw, is this a species that can have a male parasitically attach to a much larger female?

This little frogfish is no relation to the deep-sea anglers that have the sexual dimorphism that you mention. Completely different genus, they just both happen to have evolved to use lures to catch their prey.

A frogfish is an angler but an angler is not a frogfish. They are both of the Order Lophiiformes. And yes, frogfish is the name most commonly used for the shallow-water family. But there is at least one other type of fish known as a "frogfish". And just to keep things simple, monkfish belong to the same Order as well.

No chiller, my tanks stay between 78 - 80 and everything seems to do fine.
