I am thinking about adding a Rabbit fish and from what I have read they can nip at LPS corals.
Has anyone had any experiences with them? If so what type of Rabbit fish did you have and what did it do? |

I've had both FoxFace and Orange Spot Rabbitfish and I have never had an issue with either nipping at anything. Unfortunately they didn't nip at the bubble algae I was hoping they'd eradicate either
(which is why i suspect you're asking ).

So....
How allergic are you to bee stings? How often do you put your hands in your tank without protective gloves? I see people more and more leaning to the scribbled rabbits - haven't heard as many horror stories about aggression or them eating things they aren't supposed to. They are probably about as bad as a tang when it comes to eating things... Give it a chance to get a taste of something, and its all downhill from there. I've found that the taste of something occurs mostly when corals are recently fragged, or sick... So if you have a good QT and frag tank practice, chances are slim

I have had my Foxface for about 6 months and got him from another reefer to help with my algae out break. Mine has never niped a coral or a clam. And I had some bubble algae for awhile ,but now it's gone. Not sure if the foxface ate it or the scopas tang or what. The foxface is venomous, and has spines in it's dorsail fin. Pretty big ones to. They can get spooked easily also and freak out.I always forget about this until I get to close to my fish and he freaks out and startles me, then it's "hey stupid watch that one". But never any coral or clam problems. Now he eats what ever I put in the tank, not a picky eater, but always grazing on algae.
