three spot damsel

i have this three spot damsel and is acting strange she is thinking that she is a clown fish instead of a damsel fish cause she always get in to anemone and sleep in it is the strange or what and the maroon clown always fight her of but she keeps coming to sleep in the anemone ?

wow I think it's sweet that it's doing this. I wouldn't mess with it at all. Maybe add another anenome for the Clown?

Thats actually normal behaviour. Clown fish are damsel fish after all.

yep i have the clark's wondering around the normal clown fight with the maroon for the atlantic anemone and this damsel and the small maroon goes into the bubble but don't know why the clark's and the normal doesn't like the bubble ?

Maybe catch the clark's and put them in the sump or another tank for a few days, then put them back into the tank and let them go right in front of the bullble tip, thats how i got got my false clowns to host a carpet anemone

Well, maroons aren't too picky about what they host in. Damsels seem to like carpets but apparently they'll host in whatever takes their fancy as well, especially the dominoes. I've found other species can be pickier about what anemones they will host in, some won't host at all in anything ever (more likely in tank raised clowns). AND there's individual clown preference as well as what type of clown likes to host in what type of anemone.
Take a look at this: Clownfish Anemone Compatibility Chart ... although I don't agree that they left out A. Polymnus for the carpet anemones. That's what they love. |
