barb, one is hosting the other xenias on the back wall, and this one hosts here. the other 3 are surrounding that lg brown monti.
they had hosted both X's before the move, so it just took a little time.
bill, i found they will grow and reproduce, but they never really took over and dropped pieces all over the tank, just near the main section, on the glass.
so it's not just clams i like! just clams the most!

YEAH, saw it a while ago and thought it looked phenomenal.

How long have they been doing this ?

even in their other tank they did. for about 4 months after putting 5 clowns in, NOTHING, then the smallest started to host and he was chased from one thing to anoither, from xenia to different xenia to anthelia to briarium and always replaced by bigger clowns. NEVER IN MY RBTA. i moved them when moving the tank, then put them back into the tank with a different aquascape, and again the small one started to host. within a few days. now i have the 2 smaller ones hosting fiercely in 2 different xenias, and the 3 larger ones hovering around a lg monti.

Is the xenia getting damaged at all ? and the monti ?

the x works out fine, doesn't seem to mind at all. some clowns used to host in my duncans, which made them retract a lot. moved the duncans. the monti is never touched, just occupied and defended.
