Coast to Coast without drilling?

I like my overflows, but I don't like them at the same time. It's taking up swimming room. I was thinking about adding a coast to coast along the back. Only about 4" deep and wide, and then draw down the water for my sump from it. then I can move one of the overflows closer to the spot they enter the sump.
The overflow that's far away will not restart on its own, so I get flooding. I've got to keep this from happening. Not 100% sure how though. Ideas? this thread describes the overflow and system finally a sump

Id think you could use a HOB return with the coast to coast - but hmmm, how do you get it to auto-restart since gravity won't really be on your side???
........................ thinking....................... anyone else have ideas?

I have a couple of lift pumps, but I don't think that's enough to get them restarted in time.

What kind of overflows/drains are you using now?

First I would try using the Aqualifter on the pipe that won't restart on it's own. I'm sure you have seen the HoB overflows with the Aqualifter. They do the same thing. When power goes out and then comes back on, the AL will evacuate all of the air from the tube and start the siphon.
I'm assuming your tank has no holes drilled at all? As for a C2C overflow, your still going to have the same situation with getting a siphon to start again if your using a HoB type of setup. The only way I would recommend installing a C2C would be if you have the ability/room to drill for bulkheads on the back of the tank, and install the BeanAnimal Drain system or Herbie.

It should not need any pump to start the overflow back up,sounds like there might be a leak on one of the joints and its letting air into it

ok here's the one that's the furthest away from where it drains into the sump. Both of my overflows will stop and not restart.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If a video would help let me know. I have holes drilled just above the water line on the pipe going into the sump also.

Hi
Its hard for me to tell by looking at the pictures, but how high is the T piece. it should be a little higher than the intake. Have a look at this diagram. Are your T piece higher ? Also the pipe that goes into the sump must be above the water and not below it

you know. I'm not sure if the T is below the intake. I'll have to do some checking. It's close.
